Trash-IT is an intelligent waste collection system that reduces human workload and increases efficiency within an eating environment.
The system requires a series of both software and hardware components, the functions of which can be grouped into the following main areas:
Required to render the system aware of the conditions of each table
Everything that concerns the sensing and navigation of the environment for the bin
Required to create a structure that allows for communication across the system
The system relies on a Master computer to manage communications between the table sensors, the user tablet and the actuators on the bin. All components are required to be connected to the same local network, with some constraints.
